Haonan is a second year Bachelor of Business Administration student at Thompson Rivers University. As the president of TRU Chinese Students & Scholars Association, he has been registered at education office, consulate general of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver.
Haonan has been working at TRUCSSA for more than 2 years. He was working for the department of art & entertainment as a general member. In 2016, he run for an election and was elected by TRU Chinese students as the vice-minister of Secretary. While Haonan was working at TRUCSSA, he provided various of suggestions on developing and improving the structure of administrative efficiency of club. Haonan was later on appointed to be the Vice-president of TRUCSSA by the previous president Yin Li due to his excellent working attitude and strong skills. On December, 2016, Haonan was elected by TRUCSSA executive team to be the president starting February 2017.
Haonan played a significant role while he was in his High school, as a campus wide leader, recognized and awarded by multiple school teachers. In 2010, Haonan Incorporated with “Environmental Club” at Chongqing Foreign Language School and participated in “Climate Cool” global warming environment protection activities.
Haonan founded Teenager Leadership Club at Maple Leaf School located in Chongqing, which later on is recognized to be #1 campus 5 stars club. Haonan brought the success from his Junior High and held the largest event ever in the history of Chongqing Maple Leaf School with an investment that covers more than 90% of the cost.

TRUCSSA Club Instructor, TRU World ISA
Staffen Liu-Calver is a TRU Staff and the instructor of TRU Chinese Students & Scholars Association.
Liu-Calver is an International Student Advisor with TRU World and has worked at TRU since 2005. As a longstanding member of the ISA team, Staffen has shown tremendous integrity for student services and works diligently to provide the best possible care, often going above and beyond to help her students succeed during their time at TRU. Perhaps the biggest, most public example of her contributions to campus is the Chinese New Year Festival she oversees each year. She works tirelessly with students to build a meaningful event that showcases student talent and embraces Chinese culture. In addition to the role she plays in organizing major events like Convocation and IDays, she supports the largest group of international students on campus through one-on-one meetings with them for cultural support and translation. She has spearheaded several programs to make ISAs more visible and accessible around campus. Liu-Calver is also responsible for Chinese language proficiency testing and often meets with Teaching English as a Second Language instructors about culture, intercultural communications and foreign language systems.
