Conference Attendance Grant
This grant is intended to support students in attending conferences which enhance their educational opportunities outside of the classroom. Grants are eligible to cover 90% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $500/person and $5,000/group for a conference inside of British Columbia, and to a maximum of $1,000/person and $5,000/group for a conference outside of British Columbia. Eligible expenses include registration fees, accommodation costs (does not include food), and travel costs.
General Event Grant
This grant is intended to support campus groups in hosting events which develop a sense of community and campus life. There is no limit to the number of applications a club or campus group can submit in a given year. Grants are eligible to cover 75% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $1,000/event. Eligible expense are: food and beverage expenses, entertainment or talent expenses, sounds and production expenses, venue expenses, and material and supply expenses.
Educational Event Grant
This grant is intended to support campus groups in hosting events that are educational in nature and support the strategic priorities of the University. This is a much more rigorous application process than the general event grants and clubs are only eligible to submit one educational event grant application in a fiscal year (Aug 1st – July 31st). Applications must demonstrate how they will work to ensure student success for attendees as well as a minimum of one of the other four strategic priorities of the University.
Guest Lecture Grant
This grant is intended to support faculty-specific lectures to enhance a sense of collegiality and academic culture between students and faculty members within the various faculties at TRU. Faculties are encourages to develop lectures that take place throughout the academic term on topics related to their field of interest. Guest lectures are eligible for a maximum of $1,000 per application. Expenses eligible for grant funding are: speaker fees, accommodation expenses, travel expenses, and sound or production expenses.
